2008 Cupping Profile
Blind Assessment:
A deeply sweet, lavender note dominates the distinctive aroma, with a backgrounded heavy, pruny fruit. In the cup the prune-toned fruit moves forward, with a nod toward dark chocolate and a continued suggestion of lavender. Full body, low acidity, slightly astringent mouthfeel. A coffee that seems exotically hearty at one moment and can seem sullenly heavy at the next.
Who Should Drink It:
Those interested in exotic dry-processed profiles. If I felt comfortable giving high ratings for uniqueness alone, this coffee would merit a rating over 90.
