Undoubtedly Ka'u coffee has awakened the world to a unique coffee of perfection. Our coffee fields landscape the southern sloped of Mauna Loa located in the Ka'u district of the Big Island. Until 1996, rich volcanic soil nourished the flourishing sugar plantations. By 2007, the Ka'u district was producing exquisite coffee. In the high altitudes of the sunny slopes of Mauna Loa, cooling mornings give way to a layer of afternoon clouds. The climate in our region created an ideal condition for growing coffee. The Specialty Coffee Association of America has granted many awards for coffee planted in Ka'u since 2007. Ka'u coffee has become the winner of consecutive awards.
